General Support - RSPCA QLD

Animal Experience Prep Assistant | Wacol

What to expect

This position is pivotal to the smooth running of our Foster Care program.  Foster carers provide much-needed love and support for animals who need temporary care prior to becoming available for adoption. Over 7,000 animals are cared for by dedicated foster carers each year, and every animal in a foster home is one less animal that our staff and volunteers need to attend to in the shelter, leaving more resources to dedicate to those in-shelter animals and creating greater capacity so that more animals can come into the RSPCA’s care.  In this role you will be working with a small team who are responsible for ensuring all our wonderful foster carers have all the information and supplies they need for the animals in their care.

  • Becoming part of a dedicated team who makes a difference in the lives of animals every day.

What are the tasks?

  • Preparing all paperwork and equipment required for Foster Carers, including appropriate food, bedding, travel crates, toys, medications as required
  • Assisting with handling the animals and preparing them for travel
  • Ensuring the foster preparation area and stores are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Re-stocking supplies and cleaning returned equipment
  • Assisting with some administration tasks, as required

What skills and characteristics do I need?

  • Sound computer skills (i.e. database entry and Word)
