Volunteer Paralegal | Animal Prosecutions
The RSPCA is seeking a dedicated volunteer paralegal to assist our legal team in animal prosecutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in criminal law while contributing to animal welfare. Please note we are looking for volunteers with experience as a Paralegal.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparing cases for trial under the Animal Care and Protection Act
- Draft legal correspondence and documents
- Review and organise case files and evidence
- Conduct legal research as required
- Liaise with witnesses
- Assist with file management and administrative tasks
Skills and experience
- Current law student or recent graduate with a strong interest in animal welfare and criminal law is desirable
- Experience in criminal prosecutions or paralegal work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Proficiency in legal research and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment: 8 hours every Friday
