Foster Carer | Mackay

RSPCA Mackay

We are so excited to announce that it's even easier to become a foster carer! Our new and improved foster training takes just 1 Hour and can be completed in the comfort of your own home. We have also updated our processes to include a virtual property check that can even be done on weekends.

RSPCA Mackay Animal Care Centre opened in December 2014 and was the first of its type in the region. The Centre was purpose built for the safe and comfortable housing of cats and dogs and the foster network provide an essential extension by opening their homes to these animals too.

Highly sought after foster carers at RSPCA Mackay include

  • Large dogs,
  • Adult cats,
  • Homes with no other pets or no young children,
  • Mums & babies (cats & dogs),
  • Neonates (additional training provided),
  • Medical recovery (including heartworm, ringworm, cat flu and other medical issues),
  • Protective custody animals.

However applications are being accepted from all carers.
