Crafts/Skill Demonstrations

Demonstrate period-appropriate crafts and skills at Fort Nisqually.

Demonstrators need to be knowledgeable about the history of their particular craft/skill and are able to incorporate it into the fort’s history.

Prior approval and training required for black powder demonstrations need to be cleared by our master of arms. Those wanting to work in our blacksmith shop must be approved by the head smith.

Fort Nisqually Living History Museum's Mission

Fort Nisqually volunteers support the museum's mission: To engage a diverse regional audience with the Puget Sound's first globally connected settlement through historic preservation, experiential learning and interpretation.
