Redland Art Gallery Front of House volunteer

If you are dedicated to the arts and want to make new friends or reconnect with old ones, this volunteering opportunity could be for you!

 

Role Objective

Provide front desk support to visitors of the Redland Art Gallery and assist with gallery tours and events.

Key Duties

  • Welcome visitors to the gallery.
  • Provide information to gallery visitors.
  • Provide reception and administration support and assist with mail outs.
  • Conduct guided tours (school groups and visitors). 
  • Assist at gallery functions and events.

Necessary Skills and Experience

  • A personable demeanour and ability to interact comfortably, cheerfully and respectfully.
  • A willingness and ability to learn about the exhibitions on display and share this knowledge.
  • An ability to communicate respectfully and clearly with visitor groups of all ages and cultures.
  • A commitment to attending rostered shifts.
  • Willingness to participate in Volunteer Information Program sessions, floor talks and exhibition openings.

Expected Time Commitment

2 shifts per month (you must commit to full shift) – roster provided 2 weeks prior.

Shift times:     AM: 9.00am – 12.15pm         PM: 12.15 – 4.00pm

Introductory and continuing training and information sessions are provided and opportunity exists for personal skills development.

Cleveland Art Gallery, Cnr Middle and Bloomfield Streets, Cleveland
