Children and Early Years Playgroup Support
(Family Learning Support Program, Fitzroy)
Have fun and empower children to explore, learn and develop through play, and provide parents and caregivers with a space where they feel welcomed, respected and connected.
In this role, you will be part of a vibrant, diverse and welcoming team, supporting the delivery of inclusive, play-based early childhood programs for children and their families.
The Family Learning Support Program delivers a range of early years supports, including supported playgroups where parents and caregivers come together with their children to participate in play-based learning experiences. The program creates opportunities for children to develop socially, emotionally and cognitively through play, while also supporting positive parent–child relationships.
In addition to playgroups, the team provides individual support to parents with children in the early years, helping families navigate challenges, build confidence and access early childhood education and care.
Though volunteering, you will play an important role in supporting local families and the community by:
• Enhancing child learning and development
• Improving family and parent/carer wellbeing
• Increasing connectedness to community
• Supporting the BSL team to provide a high quality program.
