Men's Shed Workshop Assistant and Wellbeing Enabler
Help bring some joy through the coordination of creative, hands-on activities aimed at supporting positive mental health and social connection of senior men in the community.
This is a fantastic opportunity to:
- Share ideas for Men's Shed activities
- Assist clients in small groups to create small items such as keepsakes or garden decorations to take home
- Share your knowledge of wood working to support client projects
- Gain experience in the aged care sector
- Be part of a volunteer community
- Provide positive leadership, companionship and social support
- Make a difference in someone’s life

What will you do?
In this volunteer role you will take a creative approach to support clients’ wellbeing through a range of activities including:
- Collaborating with BSL staff to resource ideas and purchase materials (all expenses will be paid for by BSL)
- Planning new workshop ideas
- Create a demonstration piece to support the delivery of craft activities
- Share your knowledge of wood working to support client projects
- Empower groups of up to five people to participate in Men’s Shed activities
- Observe clients’ progress and collaborate with BSL staff to share observations and feedback on capability, enjoyment, and program sustainability
- Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment
- Some light manual handling, including lifting of materials
