Community Volunteer Opportunities

Are you creative, tech-savvy, and looking for a meaningful way to support local history and community events? We’re looking for a volunteer to manage and update the digital sign at the Leduc Grain Elevator using a user-friendly system called Bright Author Connected.

Volunteer Opportunity: Digital Sign Content Coordinator
Location: Leduc Grain Elevator
Commitment: Flexible hours, approx. 1–2 hours per update cycle

What You’ll Do:

• Design engaging slide content using Canva (a free, online graphic design tool).
• Transfer your designs to a local computer using a USB drive.
• Update and manage the sign’s playlist using Bright Author Connected software (training provided).
• Schedule content to display at appropriate times to promote events, community messages, and sponsor recognition.
• Create and maintain a scheduling plan for sponsor content based on a provided example in the shared drive. This helps ensure sponsors are regularly acknowledged and appreciated throughout the year.

Skills We’re Looking For:

• Basic computer literacy
• An eye for simple, clean design (Canva experience is a bonus but not required)
• Willingness to learn new software (we’ll guide you through it)
• Reliable and detail-oriented
• Good organizational skills for planning and scheduling sponsor content

This roles requires a Criminal Record check which we will provide you with a request letter to acquire it at no charge.
