Lady Small Haven RAC (Benowa)

Bus Driver

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer to join our team at Lady Small Haven Retirement Living Village in Benowa. Every Thursday morning, you’ll drive our 12-seater bus, taking our wonderful residents to a nearby shopping centre for a couple of hours of shopping and socialising.

Details:

  • When: Every Thursday morning
  • Time: Approximately 9am to 12pm
  • Where: Southport Park Shopping Centre

About you

  • You will have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • You will be patient, friendly and outgoing
  • Following instructions and working in a cooperative way will be paramount in this role
  • A desire to have fun will go a long way!
  • A weekly or fortnightly commitment would be ideal

Training Requirements

  • A valid driver's licence and experience driving a 12-seater bus
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (don't worry, we’ll cover the cost if you don’t have it yet!).

Churches of Christ in Qld encourages all volunteers to complete training that is appropriate for their role. We do this to keep you and the people you will be supporting safe and healthy. Training occurs in a variety of ways and we will work with you to provide access and support.

When you accept a volunteer role, you will be asked to sign a Position Description that will clearly define the training requirements.

Personal History Screening

All volunteers supporting vulnerable people require a current criminal history check. In Residential Aged Care and Community Care there are strict legislative requirements governing this.

What if I don't have a Police Check?

Don't worry - we can apply for one and cover the cost for you. As soon as you have passed the check, you will be able to volunteer.

If you're interested in this rewarding volunteer role, we’d love to hear from you!
