Richmond Immigrant Settlement & Integration Program

Career Mentors

We are currently recruiting volunteers to join our Career Mentoring Program for SUCCESS team as a Mentor.

As a Career Mentor, you will spend up to 12 hours over three months mentoring a new immigrant as they prepare career success in Canada. Your knowledge of the local market and of Canadian workplace culture is invaluable to immigrant professions. With your help, immigrant professionals can better navigate the local labour market, job opportunities, and be prepared to present themselves to likely employers.

To be successful as a Career Mentor, you should have:

  • Currently living and working in the Lower Mainland
  • Working in one of the professional fields currently identified
  • Knowledge of a specific occupation, how to assist in developing a realistic career pathway, and sector-specific credential recognition and accreditation. Right now we are looking for mentors working as

    • Early Childhood Educator,
    • Social Service Worker,
    • Human Resource Manager,
    • Engineers
    • Property Manager

The volunteer time commitment is flexible and can accommodate your schedule. All Mentors receive training and ongoing support from program staff.
