Makerspace Coordinator
Volunteer Role Description

PURPOSE

Coordinate and give general support to the MakerSpace activity whilst also providing a communication and administrative link between MakerSpace participants and Living & Learning Nillumbik.  

LOCATION

Nominated Living & Learning Nillumbik Hub or a community activity space

KEY TASKS

  • Where applicable, set up and pack up each MakerSpace session
  • Coordinate day to day MakerSpace activities
  • Ensure participant attendance records are completed 
  • Monitor and contribute to a safe environment for all participants - refer to the Safe Studio practice guidelines where applicable
  • Communicate any near-misses or OH&S related incidents to the Living & Learning Nillumbik staff as soon as possible
  • Provide feedback, ideas, issues or concerns to the relevant Neighbourhood House Coordinator
  • Arrange a relief MakerSpace Coordinator if unable to attend all MakerSpace sessions 
  • Enter required data into the volunteer management database, Nillumbik My Volunteer Impact page

 

REPORTS TO

Neighbourhood House Coordinator

TIME COMMITMENT

2-6 hours/week (dependent on the MakerSpace session)

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Able to problem solve
  • Punctual and reliable

SUPPORT

Organisational induction training and specific task training will be provided. All Living & Learning Nillumbik volunteer coordinators provide an open door communication environment for volunteers encouraging any questions to be asked and concerns to be raised. All Living & Learning Nillumbik volunteers have access to Nillumbik Shire’s confidential Employee Assistance Program.
