Volunteer Gallery Attendants

Woman in art gallery talking to visitors

PURPOSE:

Local Remix: Assembly is an exhibition of artworks from the Nillumbik Art Collection from 26 June - 16 August at Montsalvat.  This year the exhibition focuses on artworks from Nillumbik’s unique artist colonies, residencies and organisations including Baldessin Press, Dunmoochin, Montsalvat and Laughing Waters/Garambi Baanj.

This exhibition is supported and enriched by volunteers to add value to the experience of visitors and assist with the supervision of the exhibition space. This role is voluntary. We value our volunteers by providing training, support and engagement. As a Volunteer Gallery Attendant, you will support the exhibitions daily operations and contribute to a welcoming and engaging environment for our visitors and community. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic creative setting, to learn about day-to-day gallery management and visitor services, and to engage with current contemporary art practices.

The volunteer team is engaged and supported by Council and supervised onsite by Montsalvat staff. Montsalvat is a thriving not for profit arts community in a rural setting, where quality artistic practice and arts education are fundamental to its purpose and vision.
