           Location: Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon PE29 6NT

 

           Days/Hours: 4 Hour Shift (09:00 – 13:00)

                                 Monday + Thursday

 

          Main Tasks :

 

                Attending hospital can sometimes be a daunting experience for patients and visitors, the

               Treatment Centre is a large building with many departments.  The Meet + Greet Volunteers

               are a friendly face to welcome patients and visitors to the hospital

 

              Supporting our Patient Service Team & the Booking-In Desk, you will offer directions or guide

              patients and visitors to their appointments or specified areas and help to keep the queue to a

              minimum, help them locate information within the Info Zone, answer any questions or queries

              they may have, locate and use wheelchairs, help direct them to the Patient Transport

              Coordinator and ensure they are comfortable whilst they are waiting

              This role will enhance the patient / visitor experience when attending the hospital

 

             The Difference you will make:

             Volunteers are a great support and compliment the work of our Patient Service Team,

             enabling them to reach more patients at the entrance of the Treatment Centre

 

             Your role will allow the Patient Services Team to prioritise demands on their time whilst

             ensuring the main reception area always has cover

             We are looking for volunteers who have excellent communication skills and confidence when

             approaching new people with the ability to communicate effectively with people from different

             backgrounds in order to find out information to assist them.  Relevant training will be provided.

           

             This role will require a DBS and Volunteers must be aged 18+. 

                       

 

 

 

          What we offer:

          Successful applicants will receive a full volunteer induction, relevant training and on-going

          support in the role. You will be issued with a volunteer badge/uniform, parking permit and

          be able to claim travel expenses within a 20 mile radius of the Hospital.
