Our Coffs Harbour shelter is home to hundreds of animals who are looking for their furever home. Help improve animal welfare by becoming our gardening volunteer and help maintain our facilities. You’ll be the expert assisting with gardening duties and provide that extra care for our shelter environment. This role is suited to applicants who don’t mind getting a little dirty, love working individually and like to call themselves a ‘green thumb’.
What are the tasks?
- General duties such as sweeping, planting, mowing and weeding our grassed areas and animal enclosures
- Maintaining our veggie gardens and harvesting plants for our pocket pets
- Assisting with overall cleanliness for staff, members of public and of course, our residents!
What are the requirements?
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Ability to lift 20kg
- Previous gardening experience (highly desirable)
- Experience using whipper snippers, mowers etc (highly desirable)
Time Commitment
We’re looking for volunteers who can help out in either the mornings from Monday - Saturday between 9:00am - 4:00pm.
Shifts available are:
9:00am – 12:00pm or 12:30pm – 4:00pm.
