Tens of thousands of animals need RSPCA NSW’s help every year. As a Transportation Driver, you will collect and transport the animals in our care to and from various locations such as other RSPCA NSW facilities, Petbarn stores, veterinary clinics etc for the operation of our shelter. This role is suitable for applicants who love being on the road, have animal handling experience and want to contribute to animal welfare.
What are the tasks?
- Transporting animals to and from care
- Ensure our animals receive the highest level of care during transportation
- Use safe animal handling techniques and read animal behaviour to provide suitable and welfare-considered care for each individual animal
- Reporting and communicating any signs of illness, injury or behaviour matters to animal attendants
What are the requirements?
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Complete our online Basic animal, handling and Transport course. This can be done at home or during your first few shifts. This course equates to roughly 4.5 hours of online learning
- Ability to lift 20kg
- C-Class NSW driver’s licence
- Sign a motor vehicle policy
Time Commitment
We’re looking for people who can volunteer one day per week or fortnight from Monday – Friday between 8:30am – 3:30pm.
