RSPCA NSW is seeking dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Drivers to assist in delivering essential pet supplies to communities affected by bushfires in NSW. As a Volunteer Driver, you will play a crucial role in supporting pet owners and their beloved animals during challenging times. This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well-being of animals and their owners in bushfire-affected areas. 

 

What are the tasks? 

 

  • Collecting orders and donations from suppliers, members of the public or businesses 
  • Sorting/moving of donations to designated areas at our shelter 
  • Delivery of Pet Supplies: Safely transport pet supplies such as food, water, bedding, and other essentials to designated Evacuation centres within bushfire-affected communities. 
     

What are the requirements? 

 

  • Be at least 18 years of age 
  • Ability to lift 20kg 
  • C-Class NSW driver’s licence 
  • Sign a motor vehicle policy
  • Excellent customer service
  • Comfortable with driving a large van and potentially driving long distances (distances can vary from job to job) 
  • Undergo a National Police Check and be contacted by a third-party service 

 

Time Commitment 

 

Emergencies can happen at any time. We’re looking for people who are willing to go on our call list and be contacted when needed as emergencies arise.

  • Complete all necessary mandatory online training
