Young Epilepsy

School Governor - based Lingfield Surrey

Young Epilepsy is a leading national charity which exists to improve the lives of children and young people with epilepsy and associated conditions. We provide a range of high quality multi-disciplinary services including:

  • St Piers School, a non-maintained special school for pupils aged 5 to 19
  • St Piers College, an independent specialist further education college for young adults aged up to 25
  • 52 week residential care, health and research services.

We are seeking an additional governor for our Education Governing Body, which challenges and supports senior managers to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

Our Governors have an important part to play in raising standards through monitoring and evaluating the performance of the school, college and residential services and advising the Young Epilepsy Trust Board on a range of key issues.

The Education Governing Body meets on average six times per year and governors are expected to make additional visits to the campus at least once per term.

This voluntary role is based in Lingfield, Surrey. The role is unpaid, however direct expenses can be reimbursed.

In particular, applications from people with management experience in education would be welcome.
