EDUCATION OFFICER
The Spike is an Edwardian vagrant’s hostel in Guildford. It was part of a Victorian Workhouse.
Now renovated, we offer educational programmes to school groups of all ages using interactive heritage packages.
The role of volunteer Education Officer is to organise and deliver these programmes developing partnerships with sectors of the community, schools and colleges.
We are looking for a good communicator with an interest in social history, old buildings and their uses and local heritage.
You will be given training to assist you to develop and expand your own skills. Further training courses are available including First Aid and Fire Safety.
We provide refreshments, free parking an out of pocket expenses
Hours are fully negotiable.

Mission Statement
To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Charlotteville and the neighbourhood (hereinafter called ‘the area of benefit’) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political or religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisation in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
To establish or secure the establishment of a Community Centre and to maintain the same, whether alone or in co-operation with any local statutory authority or other person or body in furtherance of these objects.
