Chair of SDAC Ltd

We are seeking a dynamic Chair to drive the charity forward and act as an Ambassador.

As Chair, you would provide leadership and direction to the rest of the trustees; enabling the board to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity.  You will work in partnership and support the employees and volunteers, helping them achieve the aims of the freephone 24 hour Helpline; Telephone Counselling Service and Education Program to schools and colleges.

It is expected that you would chair and set agendas for quarterly trustee meetings and annual AGM, allowing everyone an equal voice and take all views into account, whilst ensuring confidentiality is respected. Maintain performance levels and formulate a budget with the Treasurer.

Working from home you will be reimbursed for travel expenses and any training deemed necessary for the position of Chair.

Previous experience of working within mental health and wellbeing or substance misuse would be an advantage, although not essential. If you do have experience and knowledge working in or with community and voluntary organisations; are willing to lead; have sufficient time (between 10 and 15 hours a week); exemplary professional integrity; an understanding of legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship and possess tact, diplomacy and creativity, then please do apply.
