The Prostate Project

Volunteers needed for the Trustees Committee

The Prostate Project, a local cancer charity, is looking for volunteers to join the Trustees Committee.  The Charity has, over the past 18 years, raised £8 Million that has helped to establish the largest prostate cancer charity–funded research institute, with 25 research staff, at the University of Surrey.  It has also contributed £3m to the completion of a £6m  state-of-the-art urology centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.   The Charity is now focused on its major role of Waging War on Prostate Cancer.

We hope to recruit volunteers with an interest in our fight against prostate cancer.

Every year nearly 47,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with prostate cancer with about 11,000 deaths from the disease.  For most, this is unnecessary as cancer of the prostate can be treated effectively if it is caught early.

Your role as a member of the Trustee Committee would be to help shape the Charity’s strategic direction, contribute to overall policy and support our continuing efforts raising funds to support this work.

The committee meets every 2 months on Thursdays at 5:30pm in the new Urology Centre,  Royal Surrey County Hospital.
