Volunteer Role Description




Database Support Volunteer

Objectives of the Role

               Help us to maintain our supporter database in line with GDPR requirements and our fundraising activities.

Key tasks

• Add, amend or delete donor details as requested, ensuring an unsubscribers to email communication from us have their records ammended.

Help ensure our donors preferences are correct and up to date.

Clean and update gift aid records each month for use to make a claim, ensuring an extra 25% can be claimed raising our charities revenue.

Under guidance assisting with collating supporter types and interests. (tagging, guildford Lottery, event tagging etc).

Help to prepare lists for mailings working with the Communications Assistant.

Targets or aims

               Ensuring we keep our database current and data clean and correct.

Help to prepare lists for mailings with the help of the Communications Assistant.


Location and hours

               Office based – half day a week.

Term      On going, start as soon as possible


Essential or desirable skills           

•             Experience with a database would be desirable but not essential

•             Attention to detail

•             Strong sense of confidentiality

Cherry Trees aims to provide a high quality service of respite care to children in a relaxed and caring setting.

 We believe that every child is an individual with the right to enjoy a normal pattern of life within the community, appropriate to his/her age.

 Although we support individual learning programmes for each child and follow through with all programmes that are being implemented at home or school, we do not provide a structured educational system as we believe we are a “home from home” where children can relax and play.

 We advocate respect, dignity, freedom of choice and privacy for each child.  We believe in the principle of  Child First, Disability Second.

 We respect and acknowledge the role of parents/carers and the challenges they face in nurturing the potential in the child or young adult in their care.
