Clockhouse Community Centre -  Cafe Volunteer

Location: Chapel Lane, Milford, Godalming GU8 5EZ

The Clockhouse Community Centre is a social day centre, located in Milford, providing a range of activities for all ages including older people – we rely on the help of volunteers in these roles. You will be part of a friendly, welcoming team.

Note: all Volunteers have a Discount on food at the Clockhouse Cafe:

Times / Days Needed (pick the day(s) which suits you): 

Mondays – Kitchen (food prep & baking) – 11am – 2pm 
Tuesdays –
Kitchen / Café – 11am – 2pm 
Thursday –
Kitchen / Café (food prep & baking) – 11am – 2pm 
Fridays    –
Kitchen / Café – 11am – 2pm 

Role Details:

As a Clockhouse Café Volunteer, you will  be part of a friendly team and will support the team in creating a warm, welcoming environment for our guests. You will be involved with food preparation and / or serve food and share a meal with our guests, encourage conversation and help clean up after the meal.  Ensuring food is served in a timely and consistent manner and in accordance with food hygiene requirements. You will receive full training on the job. Parking is free at the Community Centre and Milford mainline train station is walking distance.

Support The Clockhouse to fulfil its mission of nourishing communities with food and conversation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Have a basic knowledge of food handling helpful or willingness to learn.
Able to take instruction and direction from the staff who will support you.
Ensure that all guests are greeted and served in a friendly manner.
Focused and positive attitude.
Desire to provide valuable skills and experience to a charitable organisation.
Willingness to consider additional tasks/responsibilities..

General:

Volunteers report to the Clockhouse Manager on site

A Basic DBS will be registered at no cost to you

You will be supported and guided by the staffing team

You will be invited to an online Induction with Age UK Surrey
