Brigitte Trust

Volunteer Town Ambassador

This important role is designed to harness your unique local knowledge as you reach out to your community to promote the work of the Brigitte Trust.  You'll be volunteering in your own town or village:

  1. To create a list of local contacts and identify and approach groups who may be able to raise funds for our charity

  2. To promote the work of the Trust at local events and by giving talks to local groups after we have fully briefed you

  3. To approach local groups and organisations about adoptions and fundraising, develop partnerships with these local groups, and report back to us.

  4. Promote our own Brigitte Trust events with flyers and posters and

identify local events (bonfire night, music festivals, clubs, pub quizzes, seasonal events, choir concerts), approaching  them for adoption
  5. Ask for donations of raffle prizes

  6. Say "thank you" and attend cheque presentations on behalf of the Trust

  7. Promote our Cancer Support Volunteer service to those in need and check local medical centres and hospitals are stocked with up to date literature

Mission Statement

The Brigitte Trust is a registered charity offering a free service of emotional support and practical help to people and their families at home when a life-threatening illness such as cancer or Motor Neurone Disease has been diagnosed.  The service is provided by trained volunteers enabling carers to be supported and for a family member to remain at home for as long as possible. In partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support we are growing our service across Surrey and need volunteers from all areas
