Support Role
Every 10 seconds, the Samaritans answer a call for help. We're available 24/7, 365 days a year for anyone who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. We support people via phone and online chat. We also reach out to people in their local communities, in prisons, hospitals, schools and on the rail network.
Here in Guildford we have opportunities for volunteers to support our branch on a broad range of administrative activities. You would be working closely with our Listening Volunteers, such as arranging meetings, producing agendas for meeting, taking minutes, administering volunteer records.
You would work mainly from home, for approximately 3-4 hours per week, with occasional visits to our branch offices. If you enjoy being part of a team, have good organisational and communication skills, a good working knowledge of MS Office or similar applications, we'd really like to hear from you - your support will make a real difference to the smooth running of our branch.
Mission Statement

Samaritans’ Vision is that fewer people die by suicide. They work to achieve this Vision by making their Mission to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicidal feelings and behaviours.
