Scam Champion 16+
As part of the national Friends Against Scams campaign, deliver local sessions to raise awareness of scams and encourage people to take a stand against them. You will be helping to tackle people's lack of knowledge of scams by providing information to enable communities and organisations to understand scams, talk about scams and convey messages throughout communities about scam prevention and protection.
We are looking for people who are detail conscious and reliable. You must be able to follow the guidance given about what is to be included in the sessions that you deliver and be confident in speaking to groups of people.
This role is flexible, with no set times for carrying it out but you will need to consider what time local people will want to attend sessions and be certain that you can deliver the sessions that you commit to. After completing the Friends Against Scams training session as an attendee yourself, you will attend an additional session to give you a fuller understanding of the laws surrounding scams and some presentation tips.
Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Students aged 16 and over undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award would be welcome to apply.

Buckinghamshire and Surrey County Council Trading Standards Service aims to create an environment of confident consumers and trusted traders by providing advice and guidance to consumers and businesses.
