Saturday Bookshop Assistants
We at Oxfam Books, Cranleigh, are currently looking to recruit new volunteers to join our friendly, welcoming team to work on a Saturday. Currently we struggle to open consistent hours on a Saturday due to lack of volunteers - and this is our busiest trading day. If you are able to help, even on an ad hoc basis, we would love to hear from you.
No experience is necessary - we will train you in everything you'd like to learn and support is always on hand. A love of books is a bonus though!
Whether you've some free time to spare, would like to meet new people or be part of a team or are looking to build a CV after some time away from work, this is a great way to meet new people, boost your confidence as well as gain valuable transferable skills, such as customer service, admin, cash handling and operating a till.
We estimate that each volunteer shift worked (4 hours on average) provides Oxfam with enough income to provide clean drinking water for two people in Ethiopia - your free time really does make a huge difference to people's lives.
If you'd like to join us, or have a chat about what's involved apply via this advert or drop into the shop and ask for Jen.
