Jigsaw Trust

Mini-Bus Driver

We are looking for volunteer mini-bus drivers to help our pupils participate in activities off-site from our school.

Jigsaw School is based on Dunsfold Park in Cranleigh and this is a great opportunity to give your time to help children with autism.

School trips are usually 1-2 hours in total from leaving the school to returning, however, occasionally we have longer trips for one-off trips to places like Chessington, or our Christmas Party at the Hilton Hotel in Cobham.

You will be able to choose which trips you are available for.

Please note this is a voluntary position. Jigsaw will only reimburse any expenses.

Requirements:

All volunteers will need a mobile phone.

All volunteers are required to complete an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service – old CRB). We require all volunteers to comply with the legislative Health and Safety requirements, the Health and Safety policy will be provided for you to read on approval of application. You are also required to attend a short induction session delivered by a Health and Safety Manager.

All drivers will need to have category D1 on their license which entitles you to drive minibuses. If you are approaching your 70th birthday, form D4 will also need to be completed in conjunction with your GP in order to keep category D1 entitlement on your license.  Form D4 can be obtained from DVLA, but it is quite a detailed and lengthy procedure and can incur charges from your GP. Jigsaw will reimburse you for these charges. Please ask if you would like any further information regarding this.

We provide a short assessment from an independent minibus trainer before you first drive with pupils.

If you are interested please complete the short online application form & we will be in touch.

Thank you!
