Apply to join Greenpeace Surrey as a Local Group Member
We're a friendly active group of people living all across Surrey who do street campaign work, peaceful direct action, research when needed, and help with activities in other parts of the country and other parts of the world. We know what we do has an impact.
We welcome all newcomers and helpers, no matter how much or how little they feel they can do. We spread our activities around the county to make it more accessible, and have turned up in Redhill, Reigate, Leatherhead, Epsom, Guildford and Farnham. The more people who volunteer to help us, the clearer it becomes where we can deliver impactful activities.
Going online with Zoom meetings has allowed active supporters to join in who would otherwise have had difficulty coming to our in-person meetings, so we will continue to meet monthly online (every second Tuesday night), and look where best to resume in-person meetings too. (Suggestions still welcome!)
Mission Statement
Greenpeace is a movement of people who are passionate about defending the natural world from destruction. Our vision is a greener, healthier and more peaceful planet, one that can sustain life for generations to come.
We are independent. We don’t accept any funding from governments, corporations or political parties – our work is funded by ordinary people. That means we are free to confront governments and corporations responsible for the destruction of the natural world and push for real change.
We do this by investigating, documenting and exposing the causes of environmental destruction. We work to bring about change by lobbying, consumer pressure and mobilising members of the general public. And we take peaceful direct action to protect our Earth and promote solutions for a green and peaceful future.
We have over 50 Local Groups across the UK, including in Surrey, who support with our campaigns and fundraising through a variety of activities.
