Dementia Friendly Champion Volunteer, Guildford and surrounding areas - Posted 12.09.2019

Our Dementia Friendly Community volunteers are key to communicating messages about dementia and increasing awareness of the support available to people affected by dementia. 

You’ll be delivering interactive dementia awareness workshops as well as targeted dementia information sessions within your local community. You’ll be attending local events and groups to enable you to increase awareness of dementia in your local area. You will be involved in raising the profile of the Dementia Friendly Community Programme through posters and leaflets and will also help to support our local campaigning. 

 

About you: 

You’ll be passionate about making a difference to the lives of people affected by dementia.  You’ll be a good communicator and willing to learn presentation and facilitation skills.  You’ll be keen to support change in your community. 

 

The impact you’ll make: 

This role is essential to creating dementia friendly communities across Surrey. By delivering interactive dementia awareness workshops in your community, you’ll be helping to improve the lives of people affected by dementia by increasing their confidence in supporting those living with dementia. You will be active in developing the level of knowledge about dementia within your local area.
