Film Tour Guide
West Horsley Place has been used as a filming location on many occassions, including for hit BBC series Ghosts! Fans of the show travel from around the globe to visit their beloved 'Button House'. We run tours of the house called 'Filming Favourites' every friday, select Saturdays and additional days during school holidays to welcome fans of the show. With the upcoming release of new film 'The Possession of Button House', we're looking for volunteer tour guides to support these touras which raise vital income to support the conservation of West Horsley Place.
We're looking for confident and passionate volunteers to lead group tours of the manor house and gardens for up to 30 people. You will be an ambassador for our charity and a storyteller. You will have very good knowledge productions filmed at WHP, in particular BBC Ghosts and be able to share our stories with warmth and enthusiasm. You will have the ability to make people feel welcome and relaxed. This role is best suited to confident public speakers and those who enjoy interacting with people; group interaction is key on these tours. Filming tours are informal, fun and more interactive than other tours.
A backstop volunteer joins each group to help shepherd the group around the house.

- Very flexible volunteering – volunteer for once a month, once week, as frequently and as much or little as suits the volunteer
- All training provided – induction training for all volunteers and then specific guide training, plus 121 support with members of the team.

- Film tours focus on what’s been filmed at WHP over the years which of course includes Ghosts. Would suit those who particularly love the show

Mission Statement
West Horsley Place is a Grade I listed mediaeval manor house and estate of great beauty and historic significance. The manor house dates from 1425, though there has been a building on site since Saxon times. Our recent work to conserve and maintain the house has made our principal rooms safe and comfortable for public access, but the house remains on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register.
The West Horsley Place Trust aims to bring the house, gardens, 380-acre estate and eight Grade II listed outbuildings back into good repair and to improve people's wellbeing through art, culture, heritage & nature.
We will give people freedom to explore and discover, to create stories and become part of ours.
