We are a small, friendly charity looking after the historical Puttenham Barn. Guests enjoy a back to basics stay with the support of trained wardens, and benefit from our work to conserve and make the Barn environmentally sustainable.

Would you like to be part of our volunteer team that supports the administration of Puttenham Barn? We have many members, guests and volunteers and need someone specifically to:

  • Manage membership administration and communications
  • Take steps to build our membership and volunteer base
  • Complete some data entry / light database management
  • Take minutes at meetings (if possible)

It would suit an individual that enjoys computer-based administration, is organised and with good attention to detail. Additionally, we welcome anyone who would proactively make improvements where needed.

The role would be mainly working from home, on average a few hours a week during the open season (Easter-Sept) with monthly support needed during the closed season. Hours can be flexible.

If you are interested, please apply and complete the form alongside this description. We will then get in touch with you for an informal chat. We value all of our volunteers and try to place them in areas of activity that best suit their skills and interests - we look forward to welcoming you to our amazing team!

Mission Statement

Puttenham Barn is run by a small environmental charity called Project Oasis North Downs (POND).

Its mission is to provide simple inexpensive overnight accommodation in a 250 year old barn, in an environmentally responsible way.

It is aimed at walkers, cyclists & people enjoying the surrounding beautiful countryside.

The Barn has many environmental features including solar panels (on its bike shed!), rainwater harvesting & local varieties of apple trees in the garden.

We aim to open at weekends, during school holidays and on as many other nights as we can between Easter & October.
