Gig Bucket Shaker
We need people to add to our list of volunteers to take bucket collections at the end of fund-raising gigs across Surrey. There is no specific requirement, you will be notified of any upcoming gig and asked to volunteer if you are available. Gigs are mostly jazz or classical but there are occasional comedy or rock gigs too. Branded collection buckets are supplied.
You will be helping children and young people from low-income families in Surrey to experience the joy of playing a musical intruments. You will have a chance to hear some wonderful music and meet other like-minded people with very little commitment.
Helping financially disadvantaged young people to make music
CKT believes that every young person, regardless of family income, deserves the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument with everything that brings.
We fund music lessons for financially disadvantaged children and young people in Surrey whatever their level of musical development. We fund rock, pop and jazz as well as classical and singing as well as instrumental lessons. We also co-fund group projects in schools with a high level of Pupil Premium. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and have minimal overheads. Our income comes from grants, individual donations and fundraising at events such as gigs, quiz nights.
