Home-Start

TO VOLUNTEER FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE PARENTING EXPERIENCE.

Home-Start is a voluntary organisation in which volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. Home-Start is available for any family with at least one child under 5 years of age throughout Waverley.

Volunteers are needed to offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes. Full training will be given with support on hand.

Volunteers must be, or have been, parents themselves and understand the stresses and strains involved in bringing up a young family. They are non-judgemental, understanding, caring and reliable and make a commitment to visiting a family in their own home regularly.

Home-Start offices are in the Library Building in Farnham and the training will be held in the Loseley Fields Children's Centre, Binscombe. The next training course is due to run in Godalming for one day a week for nine weeks on Thursdays, 9.15am-2pm, starting on Thursday 22nd September. We will have a break for half term week. All travelling and parking expenses to attend the course are paid for by us.The family you volunteer with will be local to you.
