Oak Cafe Volunteer
The Oak Cafe is a free drop-in cafe at St Peter's Shared Church, Guildford, GU1 1NP, open on Tuesdays 10am-12.30pm. This cafe provides a space for people of all walks of life to come and socialise and enjoy free drinks and cakes. Children are always welcome and sometimes local organisations come to provide advice and support on various topics. During the colder months, we were officially registered as a Warm Hub with Surrey County Council.
The role of Oak Cafe volunteer involves engaging with people of all ages and building relationships based on trust and respect. You will keep to the Risk Assessment and be alert to any safeguarding issues. As part of an average shift you may expect to help set up furniture, prepare drinks, chat with visitors and clean up at the end of the session. We aim to have a minimum of three experienced volunteers on each shift, so you will always have leaders to support you. There is a probationary period of three months and you can step down at any time, although a term's notice is appreciated. There will be some safe recruitment forms to complete should you be interested in volunteering with us and some safeguarding training provided by us. Volunteers must be over 18.
This was posted 14/4/23 and is an ongoing opportunity.
