Volunteer Support Group Facilitators in Bordon and Guildford- Posted 19.09.2019

PeerTalk is a national charity that supports people who live with depression and related conditions through hosting weekly peer group support groups that are each facilitated by two volunteers. With a minimum commitment of offering four evenings in a three month period the facilitators take their turn on a rota to facilitate the peer support group.

We are now recruiting volunteer facilitators for PeerTalk in Bordon and Guildford.

The Guildford PeerTalk group will be meeting on Wednesday evenings 7.30 - 9.00 at The Spike Community Centre, Warren Road,  Guildford GU1 3JH

Our support group in Bordon meets every Tuesday, 7.00 -8.30 at The Forest Community Centre, Pinehill Road,Bordon,GU35 0BS

Applicants must be available to volunteer on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.

We have a PeerTalk Facilitator Applicants' Training Day at the Old Thorns Hotel, Longmoor Road, Griggs Green, Liphook GU30 7PE on Saturday 30th November 9.45am - 4.00pm

We offer full training and ongoing support. The training involves an overview of depression and related conditions, and basic listening and facilitation skills. We ask our volunteers to undergo safeguarding training and we require you to be DBS cleared.

We reimburse our volunteers' travel costs.

It's rewarding to see those who come along to the group offer each other hope and help - it can make a tremendous difference to people as they work through tough times.

Interested? Please complete the short online application form and we will be in touch.

We look forward to hearing from you.
