Help our Cranleigh community!
This volunteering opportunity involves driving residents in the Cranleigh area to the Health Centre, Dentist, various Hospitals and Clinics, shopping etc.
No regular weekly commitment is required. The emphasis is on flexibility. Volunteer drivers can choose when they are available, and can opt for local trips only..
A volunteer driver will need friendliness, patience and empathy, together with their own car and a clean driving licence.
In return, we will cover your petrol expenses and provide support and an induction session. We practise an Equal Opportunities Policy.
Our volunteer driver sometimes combine this role with that of Duty Officer, the coordinator of drivers with passengers. See other role on this page.

Cranleigh Village Care is a voluntary organisation set up to help local elderly and vulnerable people to attend a variety of mainly medical appointments both in the village and further afield. Drivers do not have to commit to a set day and may choose to do only local trips. Duty officers take calls on a dedicated mobile phone in their own homes, usually one day a month. The appreciation shown by own clients makes it all worthwhile!
