Chef/Cook Volunteer
The Clockhouse is a day centre that has been established for over 30yrs in Milford. We provide a welcoming atmosphere for over 50yr olds in and around the Milford area.
Our aim is to combat social isolation.
The Clockhouse is open from 9.30am - 3.30pm on weekdays and offers a wide range of activities, special events, entertainment and lunches , as well as trips and weekends away.
Chef/Cook Volunteer
We are looking for a volunteer cook, aged 18 or above, who has the necessary skills to plan and cook food. We are looking for people who are passionate and enthusiastic about serving the community. Experience of working in a busy kitchen would be an advantage but not a requirement.
Hours: Can commit to volunteering weekly during scheduled meal preparation times.
Main duties and responsibilities · Assist the chef in preparing meals for people who come to the centre · Ensure all food is cooked thoroughly and prepared hygienically. · Responsible for the kitchen area · You will not be responsible for washing/cleaning up · Provide cover for chef when he is away on annual leave.
Training and support
We offer training and support at the Clockhouse, and in return, you will join a great team and know that you are making a real difference in the lives of older people. Full training is offered on an ongoing basis through a mix of methods both virtually through an online training platform as well as in-person during an Clockhouse induction program.
General to all roles:
Volunteers report to the Clockhouse Manager on site
A Basic DBS as needed will be registered at no cost to you
You are able to apply for more than one volunteer role
You will be supported and guided by the staffing team
Upon registration you will be invited to an online Induction with Age UK Surrey outlining our services.

Mission Statement
We offer a warm and friendly environment for the over 50's where members can meet new friends, take part in our many activities or join us for outings or holidays.
The Clockhouse is open Monday to Friday 9.30am-3.30pm. We provide a range of services including hairdressing, chiropody, reflexology, hearing and sight tests.
We offer a in-expensive 2 course homemade lunch with a variety of alternatives on a daily basis as well as a snack bar offering hot drinks, biscuits and homemade cakes.
