Park Mead School Governing Body

Governors Needed - Posted 27/9/2021

Do you care about the future of our children? Why not become a Governor at Park Mead Primary School?

If you are passionate about improving education for children in our area then we need you!  We are looking for some new Governors.

Park Mead is a two form entry primary school serving the community of Cranleigh and its surrounding villages.  We offer a vibrant learning environment with an emphasis on high levels of achievement, high expectations, yet a caring ethos which focuses on the development of the whole child.

Our aim at Park Mead is for every child to fulfil their potential through fostering an outstanding learning environment which maximises motivation, independence, enjoyment and challenge.

At Park Mead we care for each and every individual within our community and seek to promote a set of shared values for learning and life.

Our school Governing Body is made up of Governors from all walks of life and many come to us through a variety of routes and with a range of different backgrounds, skills and experiences, but they are all volunteers who work together for the benefit Park Mead and are the link between the School and the community it serves.

We are currently looking for new Governors and would be delighted to hear from committed people who have:

    • a desire to learn about and contribute to our community
    • time to devote to the Governing Body and the school
    • the ability to look at issues in a creative and open manner
    • the confidence to ask questions and join in debate
    • a willingness to listen and make informed judgements
    • the ability to work well with others
    • enthusiasm to attend training to develop your knowledge and experience
    • interest or experience in finance and marketing could be an advantage

We strongly believe that all organisations will be better places if they embrace and promote diversity in all its forms and take active steps to become more inclusive. We encourage applications from under-represented groups for all the positions that we advertise and will, all other things being equal, take positive action to broaden our diversity for currently under-represented groups.

If you need us to make any reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process, to ensure the process is open to anyone with a disability/different ethnic group, please let us know when you contact us.
