Support Group Volunteer
If you’re interested and passionate about providing support and information for people affected by a lung condition either face to face or online, our support group volunteer roles might be just what you’re looking for.
What does this role look like?
Our support groups volunteer run monthly meetings to benefit people with lung conditions. The hours are flexible and will vary depending on the volunteer’s availability to setting up the group, organising speakers and other resources.
This is an opportunity to also meet new people, make new connections and friends, while increasing your knowledge of lung conditions and services in the area. You could learn new skills, while offering much needed support for people living with a lung condition, their families and friends, and raise awareness of the work that Asthma + Lung UK are doing.
This opportunity might be ideal for someone with good communication and listening skills, empathy and understanding, ability to act as part of a team and good organizational and administrative skills.
How do we support our volunteers?
We provide volunteer induction training, resources, a team member contact to support you on your volunteering journey, we’ll refund all reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred while volunteering.
Who can apply?
Whatever your background and experience, we’d be very happy to hear from you. Although the role is suitable for people over 18 years old, there is no upper age limit for who can volunteer in this role. We’re also very keen to hear from people based in Guildford area.
