Hub Volunteer
Volunteering within your local community, you will provide help and support at one of our Carer Support Hubs. We are looking for volunteers to support our hubs especially at Farnham 'Coffee and Chat'.
Working alongside a paid member of staff you, you will:
- Help set up and clear away at the end of hubs
- Welcome carers and help create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
- Help carers to sign in.
- Make hot drinks for carers
- Offer an empathetic and listening ear.
- Direct carers to a staff member for signposting for specific support.
- help out with activities (such as craft and mindfulness activities) to help improve carer's wellbeing
Action for Carers will provide you with any agreed expenses such as mileage (55p per mile) or public transport. We will also provide you with induction, training, regular ‘check ins’ with our Volunteer Development Officer and social opportunities such as our Volunteers Thank You Event, Festive Gathering and Summer Picnic.
