(Sandy Hill Community Bungalow) Hale Community Centre

Become a Trustee

Hale Community Centre’s vision is to be at the heart of the community enabling social and community success. We aim to achieve this by working closely with others - individuals and organisations - and by providing and supporting opportunities for individuals and groups in educational, training, employment, cultural and leisure activities. Over the last few years a great deal has been achieved in creating and strengthening partnerships with residents and local organisations and making the vision a reality.

We are now looking to recruit to our Board, which at present comprises of 5 trustees.

While experience of working with a charity would be of benefit it is not essential, but we are looking for an interest in working with the community and making a difference to people’s lives.

As a trustee of the Centre you see first hand the differences the Centre’s makes to the lives of local residents through the projects we run and the activities taking place – reduced isolation; improved confidence and self-reliance; reduced levels of anxiety and stress.  And you are instrumental in bringing about these changes through discussions with local residents and local organisations - those represented on the Board and others – and through working with a team committed to and passionate about making a difference.

Much of the work can be done from home, with attendance at very occasional office meetings and quarterly Board meetings, which are held for a couple of hours early evening at the Centre.

The skills we are particularly looking for at the moment are financial (our Treasurer will have to resign due to pressure of work) and those relating to IT, but other skills and experiences would be of interest.
