Volunteer Counsellor (Female)

Are you a qualified Counsellor willing to provide essential counselling support to women experiencing domestic abuse?   If so, come and talk to yourSanctuary about how you can make a big difference in helping women to cope, recover and ultimately move on.

Meeting with women (outreach or refuge clients) on a weekly basis you will provide sensitive and suitable therapy as required and offer supervision sessions to yourSanctuary's front-line members of staff.

You will need to be a fully qualified, humanistically trained, Counsellor with a minimum of one year's post qualification experience.  You will have experience in dealing with issues related to trauma (preferably in relation to domestic abuse) and must be sympathetic, approachable and reliable.

We are looking for a regular minimum commitment of two hours per week and you will be based at our offices in Woking.  A DBS cehck will be required.  Travel expenses will be covered (once volunteering has started).

Please note that we are unable to accept applications from Counsellors not yet fully qualified as we cannot offer the necessary supervision.

Please contact us by completing the online application form.
