School Workshop Helper
The Cathedral Schools’ Department welcome hundreds of schools and young people to our magnificent cathedral each year. We run a variety of curriculum linked education programmes and workshops for primary and secondary schools. These term time creative workshops are very popular,
This role would provide good experience for anyone wanting to work in the education sector
Volunteers would help prepare and deliver the activities, as well as serve refreshments and clear away afterwards. It is important that school workshop volunteers enjoy working with children and are happy to assist with a variety of practical and reflective activities.
We are looking for volunteers who have a warm and friendly personality and have good communication skills with adults and children and are sympathetic to the Christian faith. It is also important that the right candidates are able to use their initiative, are flexible, reliable and have a sense of humour.
Flexible but usually 2 or 3 times a school term for approximately 3 hours.
What do we offer you?
We provide safeguarding training and will arrange for you to be DBS checked. You will also be given support and training within the role. We offer free tea and coffee, as well as free car parking whilst you are on duty. You are invited to a our Community Coffee morning every last Thursday of the month so you can meet other volunteers and chat over a free cup of tea or coffee.
Unfortunately we are unable to pay any travel expenses.
The Cathedral is easily accessible by public transport (the bus stop is at the bottom of the hill)
