Frimley Garden Volunteers
Would you like to get involved with our new community gardening project? Get out in the fresh air, connect with others, grow vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Whether you are a beginner or have lots of gardening experience, we are looking for garden volunteers to help us develop and maintain our community garden at Frimley Lodge Park.
Tasks will include sowing and planting of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and fruit, creating areas for wildlife as well as general maintenance tasks of watering and weeding and keeping the garden tidy. There will also be practical projects of constructing raised beds and compost areas so if you have some DIY skills that would be great too.
Weekly volunteering sessions Monday morning, Wednesdays, and Thursday afternoons with some flexibility. Potential for assistance over the weekends in Spring and summer.
We are also looking for assistance with our weekly supported gardening sessions – side by side gardening to help people with their mental health and wellbeing.
Desirable Qualities
- A passion for horticulture and gardening
- Enjoy working in an outdoor situation
- To be reasonably physically fit (garden tasks can be physically demanding)
