Organisation Description:

Hydon Hill is a residential home (with nursing care), providing a range of services for adults with physical disabilities. Age ranges from late teens to retirement age. 

We are located in a beautiful part of the Surrey Hills AONB a few miles south of Godalming. 

Leonard Cheshire Organisation has over 70 years experience in providing care to and for people with long term disabilities. 


We are looking for volunteers to support various activities (e.g. IT support, painting, playing games, quizzes, scrabble, music appreciation, crosswords, card making, cooking, bingo etc.) and provide information,support and encouragement to the people who use our services.

Daily activities include crossword, skittles, monopoly, dominoes, creative arts inc pottery, jewellery making and any ideas you may have that could contribute.

Assistance is required for volunteers to be on hand, to spend time in the activities centre chatting and supporting the people who use our services by providing them with anything from casual conversation to giving them an extra pair of hands.

Fun, friendly environment where volunteers are welcome to drop in and out. Free parking and free tea and coffee.

Activity hours are usually between 0930-1630. Any time  you feel you can give between those times, be it 1 hour or more in a day or a week will be very valuable to our residents and equally rewarding for you. 

Recruitment Method:   Informal interview.  It is required to provide 2 references and a DBS check 

Training:  Relevant induction training is also provided for the role.

Expenses:  Relevant expenses paid

Directions:  Hydon Hill is based near Godalming and has space for parking.
