Lead Support Volunteer
Why we need you
We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Our volunteers are a key part of achieving our goals and their support is vital.
Do you enjoy helping people find solutions to life problems?
The MS Society Surrey is looking for a Lead Support Volunteer in Surrey, to help people make use of the support that we and other local organisations can offer across the county.
One day you could be signposting someone to a useful service, the next helping someone complete an application for a grant for a life-improving piece of equipment not available (or not fully funded) through statutory services.
If you have skills in this area already, or are able to commit to at least 12-24 months supporting us and would like to develop these skills as part of your CV, this may be the volunteering opportunity you're looking for.
These are the kind of skills the NHS now values in Primary Care roles like Social Prescribers, so this could be a doorway to a future career.
The role does require some formal training, which the MS Society will provide, and a DBS clearance check
Interested? Please click on the 'Fill in application form' button & complete the short online form & we will be in touch.
