Music Education Trustee
To join our team of Trustees and volunteers making music lessons available to children and young people in Surrey who would not otherwise be able to afford them. Specifically:
Overseeing our music education strategy to maximise its impact
Identifying, developing and overseeing appropriate goup teachng and ensemble projects in primary and secondary school with high pupil premium ratios.
Managing our interface with Surrey Arts, state schools andother providers of music educaiton in Surrey
You will be required to attend and contribute to board meetings (about every two months and usually in Guildford)
You will have in-depth experience of music educaiton at primary and/or secondary level. This will probably have been gained through practical experience wither as a school head of music, in a county music service and/or in a music education charity of provider.
Helping financially disadvantaged young people to make music
CKT believes no young person should be precluded from taking music lessons because either their parents cannot afford them or they are not inspired to take up lessons.
We help fund music lessons for financially disadvantaged children and young people in Surrey whatever their level of musical development and tries to level the music playing field by funding inspirational performances to encourage children to take up instruments in schools where historically take up has been low.
