The Cedar House Support Group

Creche Helpers/ Looking after babies and toddlers

The Cedar House Support Group is a very small charity based in Guildford which offers support groups for mothers experiencing postnatal depression.  We offer a weekly group, term time only in Guildford where mums can come along and talk about their feelings in a safe and trusting environment. The group is faciltated by a trained and highly experienced PND counsellor and confidentiality within the group is paramount. By coming to the group it helps mothers realise they are not alone in how they are feeling and that they will recover.

One essential part of our team is the crèche helpers who look after the babies/toddlers whilst the mums are in the support groups. All our crèche helpers are volunteers who very kindly donate their time to care for the children whilst the mums attend the groups. We are a small friendly team who strive to support the mums during an extremely difficult part of their lives. It makes such a difference to these mums who know that week by week they have a sanctitude where they can come along and be understood and listened to all the while knowing their children are being looked after too. These groups are a lifeline for our mums and you'll know that you helped provide that lifeline every week.

The group is on Monday mornings from 10am to midday and we ask that you have some experience of looking after babies and toddlers.

A DBS check is needed and will be paid for by us if you don't have one.

Mission Statement

The Cedar House Support Group is for women who are experiencing postnatal depression. The group provides a safe and supportive environment where mothers can get together with others who may be feeling similar to themselves. This helps their recovery by normalising feelings and reducing the sense of isolation that postntal depression can bring.
