Mini bus driver on Friday mornings
Guildford Walking for Health is an Association, a local community group run by volunteers (under the umbrella of Macmillan & the Ramblers) set up to help improve the health of Guildford people. We would like to attract more walkers to the Whitmoor Common Health walks on Friday mornings, between 11 and 12 noon.
At the moment most people either drive or cycle to the start point of the Whitmoor Common health walks. Unfortunately there is no public bus route close to the starting point.
Using the Stoke Community 16-seater bus, we hope to bring more residents from the Bellfields and Slyfield areas of Guildford to the Whitmoor Common walks. The FREE 1-hour and 30-minute walks are from the car-park at the Jolly Farmer pub on Burdenshott Rd, nr Worplesdon station.
We hope to attract more walkers by offering a FREE bus service. Pick-ups will be from the Stoughton Surgery at 10.20 am & Bellfields Children's Centre at 10.30 am, and drop-offs around 12 noon. The Stoke Community bus (parked behind Christ College, Bellfields) is available, but we urgently need volunteer mini-bus drivers to help.
Volunteer expenses are paid and also a retainer for services.
Ideally you should be outgoing and cheerful, and have a clean driving license. You need to be over 18 year old. Selection is by face to face interview.
If you would like to help, please complete the on-line application form.
