Surrey Drug and Alcohol Care Helpline

Telephone Helpline Volunteer

Are you able to help people in need find the right support they need?

Can you spare 5 hours or more a fortnight to help us provide a 24 hour, seven days a week, confidential helpline for people with mild to moderate mental health problems, drug or alcohol problems?

We answer calls predominantly from people in Surrey:

  • Providing listening and emotional support that is confidential.

  • We are non judgemental and signpost to other agencies.

  • Refer callers into treatment services.

No qualifications are needed as full training will be provided, but you will need a friendly and calm telephone manner with the ability to communicate effectively. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.

The Helpline is operated from your own home, at no cost to you.

Our training programme operates over 5 Saturdays, not consecutive and help with travel expenses is given and lunch is provided.
